10 and Under Tennis, featuring the QuickStart Tennis play format, is quickly becoming the future of tennis. 10 and Under Tennis is designed and structured for kids to learn, rally and play quickly in a way that is both enjoyable and rewarding.
Think about it…you do not see kids playing soccer or baseball with adult-sized equipment or on regulation size fields, and now with 10 and Under Tennis using the QuickStart Tennis play format, you will not see tennis players doing that either. You also won’t see players waiting in lines to hit the ball or see tennis balls bouncing over a child’s head. What you will see is kids having success and enjoying the game right away, while wanting to come back for more and developing a passion for this lifetime sport.
USTA 10 & Under, QuickStart Tennis, uses slightly modified equipment:
- child size racquets so kids can feel in control
- foam or low pressurized balls that provide kids more time to get to the ball so they can start playing tennis right away
- courts and nets that are scaled to the size to match the ability level of young children.
- modified scoring so matches are shorter and hold children’s focus
With the 2012 rule change for kids 10 and under requiring tournament play on smaller courts with low pressurized balls and lighter, shorter racquets, it is the perfect time to put your 10 and Under child into a USTA QuickStart program!
