Melanie Oudin took care of business and led the US Fed Cup to its only win in the Fed Cup Finals against Italy. Melanie quick footwork and aggressive style was too much for Francesca Schiavone. Melanie upset the number 6 tennis player in the world 6-3, 6-1.
Unfortunately, it was not enough to take the Fed Cup. CoCo Vandeweghe came out strong and hopes for the US to tie it up was alive for only the first two games. Flavia Pannetta’s experience proved to be too much for the young American. Coco lost 6-1, 6-2.
